Beginning
Hello there.
Introduction
Quite a while ago I decided to try and recreate a mini-game as a side-project, of a specific genre that I and my family adore. Make it less competetive, more customizable (esp. for level creators), less expensive and fun in general.
I wasn’t very active here but months later I decided to continue the efforts and thus for the Improve My Game (Jam) of 2023 planned out some time to make it playable. (Figured later I didn’t have as much time to do it (as I planned) but had (at least) the opportunity to improve my everyday life elsewhere :)
v0.1
(first version, below is what I quickly recall being problematic apart from regular dev tasks - implementation of many expected gameplay loop features, all graphics)
- fixing positioning of player input (2 touch methods from previously imprecise calculations)
v0.1.1 - beginning of Img(j) 2023 (31-1.6.)
- setup theming & started theming graphic elements (e.g. blocks)
- added more block types (oval/circle, pebble)
- remade initial level
- created sounds for gameloop
- prepared functions for ui manipulation
v0.1.2 (1-2.6.)
- created sounds and code for despawning and evaluation
- made batch loading of levels possible
- adjusted sounds and fixed pitch infinite increase
- added scoreboard (couldn’t fix node bug before deadline - slept after 2:00)
Planned Priority
- chronological & custom level switching
- fixing gameloop (e.g. adding, ball collector - functions already in place)
- make all necessary sfx
- incorporating musicality into game (on_hit modes, rhythm, layered music; song/midi follow is not certain to be impl.)
